JUNIOR PROGRAMS FAQS

We run through the key skills needed for bike control, relative to the age, proficiency and bike set up of the individuals within each of our groups. Once fundamentals are set, we build up to more advanced skills. More information is emailed to participants upon registration.
If you haven't done sessions with us before, initial sessions must be completed as prerequisites to later sessions. If you're an existing rider wanting to join in later in our programs, just contact us to check whether it's appropriate.
Yes, we cater for all ages, as long as riders have a proper mountain bike with gears, grippy tyres and hand operated brakes. We split up into small groups, according to age, riding experience, proficiency, personality, and bike set up.
We team mountain bike skills, so previous riding experience of some sort is expected, even if it's on bike paths. But riders must be capable of riding a bike, using brakes and changing gears without assistance.
To participate in our programs, the rider must have a proper mountain bike (not a BMX or hybrid) with working gears, fat/grippy/knobbly tyres and hand operated brakes (front and rear). Back-pedal brakes are not permitted.
Meeting points are listed in the info page for each program. Once you register, we'll send you more details about the program locations and what to expect.
No. Parents can drop off their children with us and, once they're signed in, can leave them with us for the duration of the session. Pick up spots are specified in the program info. If you'd like to hang around for the initial part of the session, to help your child settle in, you're welcome to do so. But to ride with us for full sessions you must contact us to pre-arrange this.
Yes, we understand many children have individual needs and we do our best to accommodate for these needs to help children have the best experience possible. And some of our coaches have specific training in working with children with special needs. Upon registration please mention anything that will help us understand the needs of your child and we'll discuss those with you along the way.
