RIDER TESTIMONIALS
Lucky us... I had just finished by second lesson with Coops, and I thought sh## how lucky is the Canberra MTB community to had a proven champion sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm. Coops can relate and get his message across to riders of differing ability, his patience and calm nature keeps you engaged and wanting to improve. I initially booked in for 3 lessons but soon realised the three lessons are the tip of the ice berg in learning. I actually now see that having on going lessons will be part of my biking life.

I’m no longer guessing as to why I had a good ride or race... Through the Ride Technics program, I learnt why I occasionally ‘got it right’, and can now repeat it over sections, corner after corner, resulting in the shedding of my previous lap times. If you’re interested in being a better rider overall, this is the program for you, with bags of knowledge in each session.

The skills course really helped solidify the fundamentals of my riding style. The back to basics style of the course has allowed me to gain more flow and confidence on the trail. Whether it be fast cornering or climbing and descending technical terrain I would recommend this program to any beginner or advanced rider wanting to break loose of a riding rut.

Great coaches with a depth of real world riding and racing experience on display at each of the sessions – I was amazed at how much I learned and how good it was for my confidence. I now think about my riding & racing and I’m sure I’m now a better rider!

The course has improved my riding in several areas, with the most beneficial being the knowledge and practical experience to confidently tackle technical sections which I previously would have either nervously approached or attempted to go around. I now approach these obstacles with confidence, and this has improved the overall riding experience for me.

Dylan and Ben provided a well structured, easy to understand course over the 5 sessions. Introduction and follow up emails around each session were first class and showed a very professional attitude towards helping the participants gain the most from the sessions. I personally gained a lot from the sessions - particularly around body positioning which has helped me become more competent over technical terrain and cornering.

Learning from the best mountain bikers in the region with practical advice and real demonstration is the only way to learn and improve.

If you are looking to build your confidence on the trails then this is a great way to do it. A focused program developed and delivered by elite riders looking at essential components necessary to improve your mountain biking. And great fun. Guaranteed to get your friends wondering how you managed to get so far out in front!

I learned skills on how to rider faster, particularly cornering and I now can finally I can whip around Luge like a demon. I even smoked my fast mate coming down Luge at the Scott 24hr. I've already recommended my mates to do this course, although I really shouldn't want them to get faster!

Before the course I guessed there was much that I didn't know I didn't know and that turned out to be true. I'm now faster downhill on my hardtail than I was on my dually before the course.

The course is advertised as being for all skill levels and Dylan delivers on that totally. I was by far the oldest and least fit rider and Dylan was able to balance keeping the fast boys occupied while having attention for me. I never felt that I was holding people back and Dylan tailored things to my level. I now feel able to tackle a wider range of terrain comfortably and to ride faster while still being in control. All in all the course has rekindled my enthusiasm for mountain biking and I will be riding a lot more this summer than I have in recent years. Thanks Dylan!

Dylan did a great job in teaching us a wide range of techniques, despite the wide range of experience we had in the group. The group size was good and had a wide range of people of different skills and abilities. I definitely learnt a lot.

I did three group sessions (5 in group) and it was awesome! Excellent Dylan - Student ratio, with great attention to detail during the drills. Importantly, each session was very well tailored to the skills we wanted to work on and built from the previous time together. Dylan’s eagerness to understand exactly what we wanted to develop made sure that our time was well spent and we all improved as a result. His follow-up emails and analysis were a particular highlight, ensuring that the learning didn’t stop once the class had finished and will give me something to back to as a refresher every now and then. Some training sessions with Ride Technics are definitely among the top things you should spend your mountain biking dollar on!

I was given a Ride Technics session for my birthday last year and have gotten so much out of it that I'm up to my fifth of eight (and possibly more) sessions. Dylan has helped me iron out the bad habits I've developed over the years. The care he takes in providing feedback, videos and written notes is invaluable given there's no way you can remember everything you discuss on the trail. Even if you're a ripper, I highly recommend some sessions with Ride Technics - it's amazing what you don't know what you're doing wrong until it's corrected. Thanks Dylan!

I booked 3 sessions with Ride Technics - I had a different instructor for each and they were all amazing. Easy to understand instructions and demos, breaking each section down to make it easier to achieve. Plus really helpful feedback both on the day and via email and video analysis. Dylan and his team work really hard to ensure you get the most out of each session. Highly recommend for riders of all levels - whether you're refining your technique or just starting out.

After several years of mountain biking, kept asking myself ‘why didn’t I do this sooner?’ Dylan corrected bad habits, taught fundamental skills that were missing and shared tips from his long experience shredding and racing trails. He’s thoughtful in finding what works best for the trainee, not one-size fits all. And, the follow-up with notes and videos is invaluable to make sure you can go back long after the sessions and still learn more. Best investment since a dropper post!

It's definitely worth the effort to travel to Canberra for some sessions with Ride Technics. Dylan is the stand out coach from all other coaches. His ability to break down and teach techniques as well as insights into riding posture is fabulous. And more so Dylan is an encouraging & supportive coach. Loved the videos and the ongoing skills & technique plan to keep us on track and improving even when he's not around. Looking forward to our next sessions!

I have had the pleasure of Ben and Dylan passing on their MTB knowledge previously and they are very adept at breaking down the fundamentals of how to descend, corner, brake, climb and enjoy being on your bike. If you have the opportunity to be instructed by Ride Technics grab the chance you definitely won't regret it.

As a late entrant into the MTB world and after a couple of un-necessary (and painful) crashes I asked a few friends for some recommended skills training for me and my two boys (9 and 11 y/o). Dylan's name kept coming up. We had a chat and booked in for a 3 session group skills course spread over a couple of months. Its made a huge difference to our riding skills and confidence; we're all riding with more fun and control. The boys are handling unexpected trail features much better and riding more smoothly all round. Topped off by a visit to the Tassie blue derby trails and a family trip down the 23 km blue tier trail and no crashes! woo-hoo... Dylan was great with the kids and he's a first class rider and teacher, a great investment.

If anyone can teach a roadie to become a mountain biker, (yes a tough task I know), the man for the job is Dylan. He has the patience of a saint. Not once did I see him raise his eyebrow in bemusement at my ability to ride dirt using brute force and ignorance. After much practice, repeats, cornering, lines and bunny hopping I discovered that fitness is only part of the equation.
You could spend a couple of grand on carbon hoops but for significantly less money you will learn to ride faster, expend less energy and importantly have more fun. If only he could be my full-time coach!

As a coach, Dylan is unique in his ability to analyse riders of diferent abilities, and identify key areas in their style and technique that are holding them back or slowing them down. Whether it's your first day on a mountain bike, or you are a professional athlete, you will benefit from his experience and insight. Dylan's love of riding is contagious and you will be smiling more after every session!

Dylan was kind enough to fit in a skills session with me over a weekend trip up to Canberra. In just a few hours with him he was able to identify a number of key improvements areas, break them down into smaller targets and help me to work on them individually and together. By the end of the session I was riding with more confidence, control and speed than I had previously. My only regret is I didn’t tee up a session with him sooner. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking to get more out of their riding going forward.

If you want to improve your riding skills - to go faster, have more fun, or stack it less - this is the place to go. First of all Dylan is the bike skills master, which is what you want in a coach. Heck, he can probably bunny hop right over your head. More importantly he’s actually a really good teacher. Unlike some other teachers I tried (where they said 'it’s easy, you just do THIS' - and then did a bunch of rad stuff I couldn’t do) Dylan has obviously put heaps of effort into figuring out what works when it comes to getting riders of all different levels to improve, and to understand skills and riding theory. He’s totally pedagogical, dude! Maybe most importantly, Dylan's also a nice fella and it’s obvious he really cares about his students. He wants you to improve, to enjoy your riding, and to meet your riding goals. So you get a coach who listens, thinks hard about your needs, tailors your lessons, and follows up to see how you’re going.

Definitely the best thing I've done to improve my mountain bike riding, Ride Technics has shown me the right techniques to give me more confidence riding and racing. Dylan has an amazing ability to watch you ride and see exactly what you need to work on and then exactly how to achieve your best. I would 100% recommend Ride Technics to anyone looking to improve there riding to have more fun.

Like every mountain biker, I want to get my bike around that track quicker. But I don’t have any special powers that can produce an extra 2 hours a day to ride to get fitter. However, recently I have managed to do PBs at 3 of my locals tracks with no extra time on the bike! No special powers needed, just a big session with Ride Technics. My husband and I did a 3 hour session and it was unreal. The video analysis were so valuable. It was pretty confronting watching yourself being thrown around the track, but Dylan provided me with solutions, so I know what I need to do to improve. The best part was how enthusiastic and passionate Dylan is about riding, but not just riding in general, he is passionate about my riding and my progression. I’m having so much more fun on the bike and feeling more confident every ride. We can’t wait for the next session.

The best thing I ever did was buy a my bike, and then get lessons with RideTECHNICS so I could actually ride my bike. I’ve found Dylan Cooper ‘Coops’ to be very professional in the delivery of the service he provides. The coaching and methodologies used are on par with those I experienced at Whistler, the feedback on technique detailed and homework specific to enabling skill improvements. Coops has worked with me to develop a program to achieve my goals, this year and into the future. My confidence and riding has really improved. Coops is easy to work with, being a friendly and approachable instructor. He’s always supportive and gets you to do more than you thought you could. Awesomely, you do features bigger, faster and more in control. I highly recommend rideTECHNICS!

I've been racing now for 10 years and my wife suggested doing a skills clinic. And it wasn't until I had a lesson with Dylan that we both walked away saying wow! Dylan tweaked the way I ride and put a whole new outlook on how to attack the track and lines to take. We had a 4 hour drive home and all we spoke about was how awesome that 3 hr lesson was. We both just got a lot faster with no extra training . I would 100% recommend this to anyone, unless you race in my age group.

I came to Ride Technics having ridden for 15 years without any real instruction. To say my eyes were opened is to hugely understate the impact on my riding. Dylan Cooper is extremely patient and what he doesn’t know about going fast on a bike isn’t worth knowing! I’m seeing improvements in my times, particularly down the hill which has always been my Achilles Heel, but the biggest thing is more in the way you see the trail. Like Alice choosing to go down the rabbit hole, your riding will never be the same, but you’ll never miss the rider you used to be! Best value spend on mountain biking you can make.

Zoe Cuthbert reviewed Ride Technics – 5 star

Dylan has coached me on a very high level. He has shown me new lines and skills that I hadn't thought of trying before and shown me a variety of new ways to ride different sections. He knows my abilities very well and I trust his judgement in what obstacle I can ride and what skills I can learn. He also gives a lot of feedback both spoken and afterwards in videos and notes to reflect on later.

I have had three lessons with Dylan and enjoyed them all immensely. The knowledge he was able to pass on has been an incredible help, especially with navigating obstacles and more challenging lines that I would never have done before. The cherry on top is the video analysis and detailed commentary after each session, worth every penny!

After a lot of procrastination I started working with Dylan @ridetechnics a few months ago. After my first lesson I realised how much I could gain from quality Coaching.
At my request Dylan designed a program delivery that met all my needs at a pace that suited me. The tailored program undoubtedly helped me gain the most from working with Dylan, who’s knowledge and personal style can’t help but get results.
Very simply, if you want access to Australia’s best MTB Coaching Program I can’t recommend Ridetechnics highly enough. It will be the most rewarding time on the bike you've had in years!

I’ve had two of my three skills coaching sessions with Dylan. I’ve been riding on and off for twenty years.
The difference he has made in my riding is huge. He has gotten me out of some bad habits. The best outcome is how I now look at riding. My line selection has improved dramatically and I’m looking at the trail in a more progressive way. Im lighter, smoother and faster on the trail. Go for a ride with Dylan you will improve.

I completed a number of sessions with Dylan Cooper from Ride Technics throughout 2017. I originally signed up to a number of sessions after reading a review in one of the Australian mountain bike magazines regarding Ride Technics but also because I realised that I had a hit a wall in terms of progressing my riding – I just simply did not seem to be getting any faster on my regular trails at Mt Stromlo, Canberra and I put that down purely to technique. Dylan is not only the best technical rider that I have encountered but also a brilliant instructor. After an initial assessment ride he was able to quickly identify a number of flaws with my technique and over a number of sessions set about not only correcting those flaws but teaching me new skills and techniques critical to riding efficiently (and ultimately faster).

During sessions Dylan would introduce new skills which would then be practiced until I had got the hang of the correct technique in executing the skill even if it took me many attempts (which sometimes it did). Following our sessions I would be provided with extensive notes reviewing the session and providing details on exercises I could undertake in my own time to practice. This also included short videos of me during the session as well as links to skills related videos that Dylan had done which were invaluable as you are always able to refer back to these notes months down the track. Even though Dylan is at the elite level all sessions were tailored to my riding ability and has proved invaluable to progressing my skills - I am now riding better than ever before and continue to practice everything which we covered in our sessions. I would have no hesitation in signing up for more sessions to further my skills.
