What is the BNE Academy?

Brisbane is all set to host the 2032 Olympics and if you’re aged 12-15 year old, then in 2032 you will be 22 – 25 years old and in your prime to represent Australia at a home Olympic Games in XCO Mountain Biking!

The BNE Academy has been established to assist riders with skills development, training prescription and race craft. The BNE Academy is for riders who want to improve their riding at a Local, State, National and International competition all the way through to those that have Olympic aspirations now and into the future.

The program will have an emphasis on education, athlete development and skills. There will be a focus on racing for developing and increasing learning opportunities.

Your coaches are Donna Dall from Progressive Coaching Systems and Dylan Cooper from Ride Technics.

The BNE Academy is taking applications from interested riders aged 12-15yo in 2022! The program will start in January 2022!

Donna Dall
Level 2 UCI Coaching Certification and NCAS Level 2 Cycling Coach

Donna has been racing mountain bikes for 25 years and is a multiple State and National Champion in XCO and XCM. She’s been coaching for 20 years and has coached two Junior World Champions Lisa Mathison (in 2002 and 2003) and Cameron Wright (in 2017). Donna was coach of the Australian MTB Team at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, Australian Mountain Bike Coach of the year in 2014, 2015/16, and 2017 and has been inducted into the Mountain Bike Australia Hall of Fame for her contribution to the sport. Her speciality is helping serious and recreational mountain bikers break through plateaus to attain higher levels of performance so that they can get fitter, faster, stronger and win more races!

Dylan Cooper
Level 1 MTB Skills Coach

Having raced professionally for over 25 years, competed all over the world at the highest level, Dylan has now turned his attention to helping riders develop their riding, enhancing bike control and simply enjoying their riding and racing. Having won countless national races and having been selected to represented Australia at the World Championships 7 times and spending many seasons racing XCO World Cups, he’s eager to pass on what he’s learned in that time to other riders develop. With over 15 years of skills coaching experience, he’s always keen to apply advanced proven methods to coaching riders who are wanting to improve, to challenge themselves and hopefully exceed their expectations.
